DAYTON, Ohio (AP) -- Norman Plummer hit his first 10 shots, including one that gave Dayton the lead for good midway through the first half, and the Flyers beat La Salle 66-58 Saturday night.
Monty Scott, with 25 points, and Plummer, with 24, had career highs for Dayton (11-5, 4-1 Atlantic 10). Jemaine Thomas scored 20, and Steven Smith had 19 for La Salle (5-11, 1-4).
Plummer hit 5-of-5, and Scott 5-of-6 for 12 points apiece in the first half, as Dayton took a 29-22 lead at halftime.
La Salle made a run in the second half, closing to within four points when Smith hit a free throw with 7:12 remaining. But a 3-pointer by Scott and a pair of free throws by Mark Jones brought the lead back to nine.
Dayton shot 46 per cent from the field, including 25 points on turnovers to just seven for La Salle.
