SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) -- Brad Brickens scored 16 points to lead Texas State to a 66-54 victory over Sam Houston State on Saturday.
Texas State (9-8, 3-3 Southland Conference) took control in the second half when Markee White started a 9-0 run with a 3-pointer. White scored 14 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field. Josh Naylor added 15 points.
Aaron Wade came off the bench and scored all of his 12 points on 3-pointers for Sam Houston State (9-8, 3-2). But the Bearkats struggled from the field, hitting just 34 percent of their shots. Eddy Fobbs had 10 points and four blocks for Sam Houston State.
Texas State was 17-of-18 from the foul line in the second half.
