NORMAL, Ala. (AP) -- Marcus Jones scored 23 points and Rick Ricketts added 19 to lead Alabama A&M to an 81-76 victory over MVSU on Saturday night.
Jones shot eight of 12 from the field and went 6-of-9 in free throws for Alabama A&M (12-9, 8-9 Southwestern Athletic Conference).
Obie Trotter added 13 points and seven assists, while Joseph Martin added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who led 38-32 at halftime. Ricketts and Trotter each hit three 3-pointers as the Bulldogs shot 8-of-21 from behind the arc.
Hosea Butler shot 6-of-15 field goals, including six 3s, to lead MVSU (8-11, 6-5) with 22 points and five assists. Sandford Speech added 14 points and Kelvin McCoy had 11.
MVSU hit nine of 21 as a team from 3-points range.
The Bulldogs hit 44.3 percent of their shots while holding MVSU to 37.7 percent shooting.
