DAVIS, Calif. (AP) -Sophomore Joe Harden had 18 points, including two free throws with six seconds left, to give UC Davis an 87-86 victory over Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday night.
Dominic Calegari added 16 points and seven rebounds, and Mark Payne had 15 points and nine assists for the UC Davis Aggies (3-6).
Trent Blakley led Bakersfield (3-5) with 22 points, and Santwon Latunde had 17 points off the bench for the Roadrunners.
The Roadrunners led 86-83 with 1:48 left, but Blakley missed two free throws with 44 seconds remaining.
Payne got the Aggies two closer by hitting two free throws, making the score 86-85.
Bakersfield's Alex Johnson then turned the ball over with 21.1 seconds left.
Harden was fouled on the Aggies' next possession, and made both free throws with six seconds left to seal the victory.
The Roadrunners missed on a desperation shot with 1.5 seconds left.
