FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Kevin Olekaibe scored a career-high 32 points as Fresno State held off San Jose State 82-73 on Saturday night for the Bulldogs' first WAC victory.
Kevin Foster added career highs in points (19) and rebounds (14) for Fresno State (8-11, 1-3 WAC), which sealed the win by making 16 straight free throws over the final 3 1/2 minutes.
Wil Carter led San Jose State (6-11, 0-3) with 20 points and 13 rebounds, scoring 12 of his points during the final 3 minutes.
James Kinney added 18 points for the Spartans, who got just seven bench points compared to the Bulldogs' 24.
Fresno State led 38-31 at halftime, but not before the Spartans trimmed what had been a 19-point deficit with a late 13-0 run.
