VENUE: Miller Park
GAME: Los Angeles Dodgers (24-19) at Milwaukee Brewers (22-21).
TIME: Wednesday, 8:05 p.m. EDT.
Shawn Green and the Los Angeles Dodgers have made a habit of beating up the Milwaukee Brewers in their own park.
The Dodgers will try for their seventh straight win at Miller Park when they continue their three-game series with the Brewers.
Los Angeles, which has held at least a share of first place in the NL West since April 14, had lost nine of 10 before Tuesday's 5-3 victory in the series opener. The Dodgers improved to 8-2 at Miller Park, which opened in 2001.
The Dodgers' recent struggles have been linked to Green. The slugging outfielder, who is hitting just .226 with seven homers and 20 RBIs, has 17 career homers against the Brewers - his most against any opponent.
Green had one of the greatest games in major league history at Miller Park, going 6-for-6 with four home runs on May 23, 2002. He is batting .463 (19-for-41) with 10 homers and 17 RBIs in 10 games at the stadium.
However, Green is batting just .166 (6-for-36) over his last nine games. Hitting in the No. 2 hole for the second time this season, Green went 1-for-4 with an RBI on Tuesday. The 31-year-old outfielder had been the cleanup hitter all year until he was dropped to fifth in his previous two games.
"He's going to hit," manager Jim Tracy said. "As soon as that happens, he'll be No. 4."
The Brewers had won seven of 11 before Tuesday's loss.
Brady Clark went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Milwaukee. The right fielder had been 3-for-20 (.150) over his previous 10 games.
STANDINGS: Dodgers - 1st place, NL West. Brewers - 4th place, 4 GB, NL Central.
DODGERS PROBABLE STARTER: Odalis Perez (2-3, 3.32 ERA). The 26-year-old left-hander has gone 0-2 in his last four starts despite a 2.89 ERA. He lost his second straight start Friday, giving up one run and four hits over seven innings in a 2-0 loss at Atlanta. In two career starts against Milwaukee, Perez is 2-0 with a 4.15 ERA.
BREWERS PROBABLE STARTER: Chris Capuano (1-2, 3.46 ERA). Capuano is expected to make his first start since leaving with a left quadriceps strain in the third inning of a 6-1 loss at Houston on April 18. Capuano, who came to Milwaukee in the trade that sent first baseman Richie Sexson to Arizona in the offseason, won his lone start against the Dodgers 2-0 on Sept. 11, 2003. He gave up three hits in seven innings.
