LAS VEGAS -- Vinny Castilla hit a three-run home run in the first inning to lead the San Diego Padres to an 8-4 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Friday night.
Doug Mirabelli, Ben Johnson and Mark Bellhorn also homered for the Padres. Adrian Gonzalez went 3-for-3 with two doubles.
Mirabelli, a Las Vegas native, and Johnson had solo homers while Bellhorn hit a two-run shot.
San Diego pitcher Chris Young worked five innings, allowing four hits and three runs. Woody Williams pitched two scoreless innings in relief for the Padres.
Chicago pitcher Sean Marshall surrendered three homers in 4 2/3 innings, allowing seven hits and six runs.
Derek Lee had a two-run single in Chicago's three-run fifth. Juan Pierre also had an RBI single in the fifth.

The Cubs acquired infielder Freddie Bynum from the Oakland Athletics as part of a three-way deal with the Texas Rangers. Chicago sent left-handed pitcher John Koronka and a player to be named later to the Rangers as part of the deal. ... This was the second of three games at Cashman Field this weekend. On Thursday, the Seattle Mariners defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-3. The Cubs and Padres play Saturday afternoon.
