SAN DIEGO -- Brad Hennessey did what the San Francisco Giants asked of him, and a bit more.
Making a spot start in the second game of a split doubleheader, Hennessey and three relievers combined on a five-hitter to help the Giants to a 4-1 win in 10 innings on Saturday night.
Pedro Feliz tripled in Steve Finley with the go-ahead run during a three-run rally in the 10th.
Barry Bonds played in both games despite fouling a ball off his right ankle Friday night. The Padres kept Bonds in the yard, and his only hit all day was a single in the night game.
"A lot of heroes there, Hennessey," manager Felipe Alou said. "What a weapon he is, especially in a situation like this. He's such a confident man that he knows he's not going to go anywhere."
Hennessey needed to eat up some innings, and he went six, allowing four hits and one run, striking out three and walking none.
"He was going to be out there," Alou said.
"I was just trying to keep my pitch count down and go as deep as I could," Hennessey said.
Finley started the winning rally off Alan Embree (2-2) when he beat out a chopper to first for an infield hit with one out in the 10th. Finley scored on Feliz's triple into the right-field corner. After Bonds was intentionally walked and replaced by pinch-runner Jason Ellison, Ray Durham singled in Feliz. The Giants added a run when Todd Greene drew a bases-loaded walk off Scott Cassidy.
Steve Kline (2-1) pitched the ninth for the win. Armando Benitez pitched the 10th for his seventh save in 11 chances.
San Diego's Woody Williams came off the disabled list and also went six in his first start since May 12. He allowed one run and eight hits, struck out four and walked none.
San Francisco's Mark Sweeney hit a solo homer to right with two outs in the second, his fifth of the year. and second in three games.
"I felt good," Williams said. "The longer I went, the better I got, at least more sharp. Some pitches I didn't quite locate the way that I wanted to. But for the most part, I'm pretty much pleased."
San Diego's Vinny Castilla tied the game at one with his leadoff homer to left in the fifth, his fourth.
