PHOENIX (AP) - Milwaukee Brewers right fielder Cory Hart looks healthy again and expects to play opening day.

In his first major league game this spring, Hart went 2 for 3 with a double in the Brewers' 5-3 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

On March 6, Hart underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair two cartilage tears in his right knee.

The two-time All Star played in five minor league games this past week.

In doing so the club kept the option of placing him on the disabled list, retroactive to the date of the injury.

On Monday, he received medical clearance to rejoin the club and play in Tuesday's game.

"He was tested today," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. "He had some ball plays that he had to run hard for. I was happy to see him get to third base that last time on base. I thought he looked good. In the minor league games I saw him play, he ran for some balls but didn't really have to turn it on. To get to third he had to turn it on."

Alex Gonzalez had three hits, including a two-run home run for Milwaukee. He is batting .463 with five homers and 16 RBIs this spring.

"He has great at-bats and it is nice to see," Roenicke said. "As a team you talk about individually what guys need to do and he is doing it."

Brewers starter Randy Wolf went four innings, allowing one run and two hits and struck out five.

"Early in camp we all thought he had really good rhythm, really good command of his pitches," Roenicke said. "He lost it for an outing and got it back again. It is nice for him going into the season."

Amaury Rivas took the loss after not retiring a batter in the eighth inning. He allowed four runs and four hits.

Arizona minor leaguer Evan Frey had a three-run triple in the eighth.

Craig Breslow (1-1) pitched a scoreless inning for the win and J.J. Putz retired the only batter he faced for his second save.

Diamondbacks starter Josh Collmenter, who has struggled most of the spring, threw three hitless innings. He allowed an unearned run with a walk and a strikeout.

"I knew I had to take care of business," Collmenter said. "I didn't have the greatest spring. That is on record. You can look everything up, but I am going forward now. I can throw all that out of the window."

Notes: Shortstop Stephen Drew will be placed on the disabled list to start the season. Drew suffered a season-ending right ankle fracture while sliding into home on July 20. There is no timetable on when he will return. "We are going to determine how hard we push him from where he is at now and how quickly," Gibson said. "We don't want him to come back and then go back on the disabled list. We want to make sure he is right, comfortable and able to do what he has to do to be a consistent contributor." ... Following the game, the Brewers assigned infielder Brooks Conrad to Triple-A Nashville. Conrad batted just .204 this spring, but hit four home runs. The move allows Travis Ishikawa to become the reserve first baseman.
