08/11/16DBKeanu NealTorsoPROBABLENeal (torso) injured his knee in Thursday's preseason loss to the Dolphins, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Neal is dealing with his second injury of the preseason. First it was a torso strain that kept him out of the team's first preseason game and now his knee injury. Despite being dinged up a bit, the rookie did tell teammates that he didn't think the injury was serious and he expects to play in the teams Week 1 matchup with Tampa Bay.

08/11/16TELevine ToiloloHandPROBABLEToilolo (hand) caught one pass for 13 yards on two targets in Thursday's preseason game against the Browns.

Jacob Tamme got the start, but Toilolo and Austin Hooper also got some snaps with the first-team offense. Each player managed just one catch, and while Tamme appears to have an early advantage, there's still time for Toilolo or Hooper to make a move before Week 1. Regardless, the Atlanta tight ends probably won't be a big part of the team's passing game this season.

08/11/16RBTerron WardAnkleQUESTIONABLEWard (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's preseason matchup with the Dolphins.

Ward hasn't played so far this preseason and it's unclear if he'll be able to return for the team's final go before the regular season, next Thursday against the Jaguars. He's expected to be the team's No. 3 option at running back, behind Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman, but his lengthy absence will again open the door Gus Johnson to take a shot at that role with added game snaps on Thursday.

04/27/16DBJalen CollinsSuspensionSUSPENDCollins has been suspended for the first four games of the upcoming season for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Collins is still eligible to partake in all offseason and preseason activities, but will have to miss the first quarter of the regular season. A second round selection last year, Collins was hoping to carve out a larger role in the Falcons' secondary this term, and although he very well may still, his absence will open opportunities for his teammates to begin the campaign.

08/27/16RBDaniel LascoHeadQUESTIONABLELasco is currently in the league's concussion protocol following Friday's preseason game against the Steelers, Josh Katzenstein of The Times-Picayune reports.

Lasco was given just one rush attempt during Friday's third preseason game, accounting for four yards, and claimed to be fine after sustaining the head injury in the fourth quarter on a receiving play. If the injury lingers, Lasco could be in danger of not making the 53-man roster.

08/15/16LBStephone AnthonyLegQUESTIONABLEAnthony (leg) returned to practice on Monday, NOLA.com reports.

Anthony was carted off the field with an unspecified leg injury during the Saints' preseason opener against New England. However, New Orleans evidently dodged a bullet as he logged a full practice Monday and appeared to be moving without limitations throughout team drills. Now proven healthy, he'll resume his entrance into the regular season as Rotowire's 26th-ranked IDP prospect.

08/15/16DLSheldon RankinsLegOUTRankins, who was carted off during Monday's practice, will have surgery to repair a fractured fibula and is expected to miss six weeks, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Rankins' injury is a tough blow to the Saints' defense, which aded him with the 12th overall pick in this year's draft to beef up its front line. Furthermore, the Louisville product was impressive to this point in camp, even intercepting Tom Brady during joint practices with the Patriots last week. With Rankins now sidelined going into the regular season, Nick Fairley, John Jenkins and fellow rookie David Onyemata should see more reps at defensive tackle.

07/31/16WRVincent BrownUndisclosedNFIThe Saints released Brown (calf) with an injury settlement Thursday, removing him from injured reserve, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Brown joined the Saints in May, adding a veteran presence to a receiving corps lacking in experience. However, he failed his pre-training camp physical due to a strained calf, which will bring his brief tenure in New Orleans to a close. The severity of the injury will likely determine when he receives a chance with another organization.
