06/02/16TEGary BarnidgeAbdomen Barnidge (abdomen) plans to be ready before training camp.

Barnidge underwent surgery less than a week ago on a sports hernia but plans to come into training camp ready to go. The leader in receptions last season for the Browns said he specifically planned the timing surgery. "It was just an opportunity to get it all done and I won't miss any time. That was the purpose of it, so we would get all of this done and then I would be ready to go for training camp and it wouldn't pop in season", Barnidge said Wednesday before Browns' practice.

03/04/16LBArmonty BryantSuspension Bryant (suspension) will participate in the Browns' offseason program despite being suspended for the first four games of the upcoming season, Cleveland.com reports.

Bryant is not only suspended for the first quarter of this season for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances, but he was also indicted in February on felony drug charges. Despite those troubling off-field issues, Bryant will be with the Browns when their offseason program begins next month, even though his status with the team beyond then remains a bit more uncertain.

04/30/15WRJosh GordonSuspensionSUSPENDThe NFL has denied Gordon's request for reinstatement from his one-year suspension for repeated violations of the league's Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Gordon's next opportunity to apply for reinstatement will arrive on Aug. 1, according Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

On Monday, it was widely reported that Gordon had failed a drug test in March. Both the A and B samples were revealed to have "traces of marijuana and dilute," and despite the former falling short of the threshold required for a positive test, his presence in Stage 3 of the drug program sealed his fate. Once Aug. 1 rolls around, Gordon will have the chance to reapply, though commissioner Roger Goodell is notorious for taking longer than the 60-day mandate for a response recommended under the current CBA. As a result, Gordon is in danger of missing his second season in a row.

06/22/16RBDevontae BookerKnee Booker (knee) is making strides in learning Denver's offense as he recovers from a torn meniscus, the team's official site reports.

Booker was reportedly a consideration for Denver at the end of the first round, so the team clearly believes that he has the physical skills to be a featured back. The mental aspects of the game could be the biggest adjustment for the young back, something he can improve on even while taking it slow as he recovers from a knee injury. The Broncos handed C.J. Anderson a front-loaded new contract earlier this year - rewarding him for being Denver's best offensive weapon through the playoffs. It might be tough for the rookie to unseat Anderson in year one, but Ronnie Hillman's role as the No. 2 could be up for grabs.

05/16/16QBMark SanchezThumb Sanchez (thumb) is engaged in a neck-and-neck battle for Denver's top job with Trevor Siemian, The Denver Post reports.

Just a week ago, the team's official website reported that Sanchez was cementing his place as the starter. So what gives? Chalk it up to the offseason news cycle that magnifies every ebb and flow in a position battle. While Siemian does have the most experience in Denver's offense, Sanchez has a background in it and is far more playing time under his belt. Both Siemian and first-round pick Paxton Lynch are dark horses to steal the job with strong camps - Sanchez is hardly the kind of quarterback who a team can hang its hat on - but it would still be an upset at this point if the veteran didn't start the season opener against Carolina.
