When asked if Hali (knee) would record any snaps in the preseason, head coach Andy Reid responded, "Only if I feel they are right."
Hali was taken off the PUP list on Monday as he finally is healthy enough to take the field after undergoing offseason knee surgery. There is no reason for the Chiefs to rush their veteran linebacker back into the fold and will likely only give him reps when they are 100% confident in his health.
In his fourth practice since coming off PUP, Charles (knee) did some work in full-team drills Tuesday, BJ Kissel of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Charles' continued progress is encouraging, but the Kansas City Star notes that the Chiefs aren't inclined to push the running back into preseason action. When asked Tuesday if Charles or LB Tamba Hali were candidates to take the field Saturday against the Bears or next week against the Packers, coach Any Reid said, "only if I feel if they're right. But I'm not going to stick them out there if there"s a question on it."
