Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch had his second straight subpar performance Sunday. In the 28-26 loss in St. Louis, Lynch rushed 18 times for 53 yards (2.9 ypc) and caught both his targets for 18 yards.
Seahawks cornerback Byron Maxwell, who missed the loss at St. Louis with a calf injury, has a chance to play Sunday at Carolina, coach Pete Carroll told reporters. Maxwell suffered the injury Week 6 against Dallas.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said tight end Luke Willson (groin) almost certainly will play Sunday at Carolina, and that center Max Unger (foot) has a chance to play, reports the Seattle Times. Both missed the Week 7 loss at St. Louis.
Linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar, who was questionable with a thigh injury, is among the injured Rams cleared to face the Seahawks. He has 20 tackles in five games. Also suiting up are defensive tackle Alex Carrington (knee), center Barrett Jones (back) and running back Chase Reynolds (thigh).
Rams defensive end Chris Long will undergo surgery on his injured ankle and will miss at least a few games, coach Jeff Fisher said. He had played 95 straight games. William Hayes will fill in starting Sunday at Tampa Bay.
