Injuries to Tony Romo and Kenneth Dixon have changed the Fantasy landscape, while the returns of Jordy Nelson, Arian Foster, Jimmy Graham and more have Fantasy owners dealing with big questions. Chris Towers runs down the latest.
Jenkins was carted off the field with a knee injury during Sunday's preseason matchup with the Texans, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Jenkins reportedly went down with a non-contact injury to his knee, which is extremely concerning for the Cardinals. While the severity of the injury remains unclear, we should hear more once the team's medical staff is able to undergo additional testing.
Nkemdiche (ankle) is expected to play in Sunday's preseason game against the Texans, the Cardinals official website reports.
Head coach Bruce Arians said Nkemdiche could get extensive playing time to make up for his absence through training camp and the first two weeks of the preseason. The first-round rookie has probably missed out on any shot he might have had to push for a starting job, but he still has time to earn a key role in Arizona's d-line rotation.
Fitzgerald (knee) is not slated to play in Sunday's preseason game against the Texans, Darren Urban of AZcardinals.com reports.
Fitzgerald, who has been dealing with a minor MCL sprain, was actually on the field during early warmups with his helmet on, catching passes. Per the report, the veteran wideout "was moving around fine," with the decision to hold him out of action Sunday presumably precautionary in nature.
Okafor has opted to avoid surgery and play with a torn biceps, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Okafor sustained the injury in Tuesday's practice, the second such torn biceps in his three-year career. In 2013, surgery was ordered up for the then rookie, but examinations may have revealed that the tear was less severe than three seasons ago. The pass rusher has totaled 10 sacks the past two campaigns, while logging 66 and 58.5 percent of the defensive snaps, but the addition of Chandler Jones along with the injury could very well result in a scaled-back role.
Brown (concussion) won't play in Sunday's preseason game against the Texans, Darren Urban of AZcardinals.com reports.
Brown, as the report notes, is "coming back slowly from his concussion," so his being held out Sunday is not really a surprise. It doesn't seem likely the wideout will play in the Cardinals' preseason finale, so Brown will presumably work toward full clearance to play in advance of Week 1.
Patterson had two receptions for 17 yards in Thursday's preseason win over Seattle. He missed Minnesota's first preseason game with a shoulder injury.
Patterson got time with the first-team offense and got to passes in the flat where he was able to use his speed to miss tackles. It was an encouraging sign that he could have a few plays a game designed for him on offense. However, his playing time is likely to be minimal on offense this season as he'll likely see almost all his action as a kick returner.
Heinicke (ankle) has shed the walking boot he wore to protect his foot from further injury, Scout.com reports.
Heinicke declined to talk about his injury after practice, reportedly saying it was time to go lift weights. If those were indeed his plans, his foot may be further along than anticipated. However, Shaun Hill has done nothing to relinquish his role as the backup to starter Teddy Bridgewater, and the Vikings project to carry only two quarterbacks on their active roster entering the regular season. Ultimately, Heinicke appears destined for either the practice squad or injured reserve list in 2016.
