10/11/15DERobert Ayers Jr.HAMSTRINGOUTGiants defensive end Robert Ayers is out for Sunday's game in Buffalo.

With Ayers out for a second straight week, George Selvie will likely slide over to left defensive end again, allowing Kerry Wynn to join the starting lineup as the right defensive end. Even against a run-heavy Bills team, the Giants defense will sorely miss its most effective pass-rusher.

10/11/15LBJon BeasonConcussionLEFTGiants linebacker Jon Beason will not return to Sunday's game against the 49ers after suffering a concussion in the first quarter, Newsday's Tom Rock reports.

Beason suffered the injury on a tackling attempt early in Sunday's game. He was replaced in the contest by Uani Unga. Expect the team to update his status at some point following the game.

10/11/15LBJonathan CasillasCALFQUESTIONABLEThe Giants announced they've signed running back Shane Vereen late Wednesday night.
10/11/15WRVictor CruzCALFOUTGiants wide receiver Victor Cruz (calf) won't play Sunday against the 49ers, but he is aiming to return Week 6 against the Eagles, the New York Daily News reports.

Cruz is slated for an examination with team doctors Monday, which is 10 days removed from receiving a PRP injection in his left calf. After he meets with the doctors, he'll adjust his timetable for a return to running, according to The Record.

With a Monday night contest in Week 6, Cruz will have an extra day to prove the health of the calf. However, next Thursday's practice will ultimately set the groundwork for the potential to make his season debut.

10/11/15TEJerome CunninghamKNEEPROBABLEGiants tight end Jerome Cunningham (knee) is inactive for the Week 4 game against Buffalo.

Cunningham and Daniel Fells did not travel with the team. As a result, the Giants' tight end depth will suffer, although Larry Donnell could end up seeing a few more targets.

10/11/15LBDevon KennardHAMSTRINGOUTGiants linebacker Devon Kennard (hamstring) has been ruled out for the game Sunday against the 49ers.

Kennard is off to an impressive start, with 25 tackles (15 solo) and an interception in four games. The Giants still don't have an every-down linebacker, but Kennard leads the group in snaps. In his absence, Mark Herzlich could get the start, though a bunch of players may benefit from added snaps.

10/11/15WRDez BryantFOOTOUTCowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant received a PRP injection Friday to help speed up the healing process following foot surgery, USA Today reports.

"There is not a concern about his progress," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said. "The fact that he can do that (injection therapy) is a positive. This was not something to address something that was a surprise or anything. It was something to get him some additional strength."

The platelet-rich plasma injection is intended to boost healing in an area that doesn't get a lot of blood flow. The Cowboys will be on bye following Sunday's game against the Patriots, and the team should have a better idea of Bryant's progress and possible timetable for a return during that week.

10/11/15WRBrice ButlerHAMSTRINGOUTCowboys wide receiver Brice Butler (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Patriots.

Butler served as the No. 4 wide receiver in a Week 4 loss to the Saints, catching one pass for 67 yards on his first target of the season. He had a chance to make it a touchdown, but he pulled up lame with the injury and was unable to reach the end zone. In Butler's absence, Rodney Whitehead will provide depth behind Terrance Williams, Devin Street and Cole Beasley.
