10/23/16WRDeSean JacksonSHOULDERQUESTIONABLEJackson (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Detroit.

With TE Jordan Reed (concussion) already ruled out, Washington's passing attack would be rather thin if Jackson weren't able to play. The speedy wideout does seem to be trending in the right direction, returning to practice Friday after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday, according to Master Tesfatsion of The Washington Post. Head coach Jay Gruden said Thursday that he thinks Jackson will be able to play, Brian McNally of 106.7 The FAN reports.

10/23/16TEJordan ReedCONCUSSIONOUTReed (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game in Detroit.

Given his lengthy history of concussions, it's not exactly surprising that Reed will take more than one week to make it through the league's protocol. Vernon Davis will fill in as the top tight end, with Niles Paul potentially also getting some looks. Wideouts Jamison Crowder, Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson (hamstring) could also take on a few extra targets.

07/29/16RBSilas ReddSuspensionSUSPENDThe NFL has suspended Redd indefinitely for a violation of the league's Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Bans of this variety are due to continued positive tests, which is evident as Redd has yet to serve a four-gamer for a similar violation due to his recovery from a torn ACL and MCL. Once healthy enough to return to the field, he'll have to bide his time and do his due diligence considering NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will be in charge of any reinstatement effort.

07/25/16LBJunior GaletteAchillesOUTGalette will have surgery to repair his torn right Achilles tendon, ruling him out for this season.

Galette's injury was revealed last week, but there remained a small hope that he may be able to avoid surgery and eventually play this year. However, upon since announcing his decision to undergo surgery, Galette can now be ruled out for the entire 2016 campaign, marking his second straight season lost due to an Achilles injury. With Galette sidelined once again, the Redskins will hope Preston Smith can build on his eight-sack rookie season and work with Trent Murphy at Washington's outside linebacker position opposite Ryan Kerrigan.

10/23/16TMarcus GilbertANKLEOUTThe Steelers created $6.2 million in cap space by restructuring two contracts, according to a report from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
10/23/16DECameron HeywardHAMSTRINGOUTHeyward is expected to miss 2-to-3 weeks due to the hamstring injury he suffered Sunday, NFL.com's Aditi Kinkhabwala reports.

Heyward's injury is not considered serious, but the results of Monday's MRI unfortunately suggested it could keep him sidelined until Pittsburgh's Week 8 bye. That would mean missing Week 7's top-heavy tussle against the Patriots. A Steelers team captain, Heyward boasts 17 tackles, three sacks and a fumble recovery so far this season.

10/23/16QBBen RoethlisbergerKNEEOUTWhile acknowledging that Roethlisberger -- who had surgery Monday to repair a torn meniscus -- could miss up to six weeks, Steelers president Art Rooney II noted Wednesday that the "best case" for the QB's return to action is two-to-three weeks, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. "I think that two-to-three is what you can characterize as best-case, but that's what we're hoping for," Rooney relayed to NFL Network on Wednesday. "Two-to-six is probably a fair range that somebody can put on it."

Roethlisberger has already been ruled out this week and the Steelers are on bye in Week 8, which takes care of the first two weeks of his recovery. Beyond that, we'll consider the veteran QB week-to-week, with Landry Jones slated to start in his place in the meantime

10/23/16SShamarko ThomasGROINOUTThomas (groin) has been ruled out of Sunday's game versus the Patriots.

Thomas suffered a groin injury in Week 5 and hasn't participated in practice since.

10/23/16CCody WallaceKNEEOUTWallace (knee) has been ruled out of Sunday's matchup with the Patriots.

Wallace hasn't stepped on the field this season and it's still unclear when he may be able to.

10/23/16WRMarkus WheatonSHOULDEROUTWheaton (shoulder) has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Patriots.

Wheaton didn't practice after missing last Sunday's game due to a shoulder injury, which will cost him his fourth contest of the year this weekend versus New England. His continued absence figures to benefit Eli Rogers and Sammie Coates, although the latter wideout's fractured thumb could impact his involvement to some degree.

10/23/16RBDeAngelo WilliamsKNEEOUTWilliams (knee) has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Patriots.

Williams' knee injury prevented him from practicing at all this week, so Le'Veon Bell should be prepared for an even heavier workload Sunday versus New England. In Williams' absence, Fitzgerald Toussaint embodies the Steelers' lone healthy running back behind Bell, who was already expected to see his usage increased in wake of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's (knee) injury.

07/29/16WRMartavis BryantSuspensionSUSPENDBryant was never under consideration of being cut by the Steelers despite his recently imposed year-long suspension, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.

Bryant's multiple violations of the league's substance abuse policy triggered a minimum one-year suspension from the league, but the Steelers never considered releasing him, according to general manager Kevin Colbert. Instead, Pittsburgh will hope Bryant makes the necessary changes to his life to get reinstated next year, when he would have two years remaining on his contract with the team. With Bryant suspended, Steelers receivers Markus Wheaton and, more specifically, Sammie Coates, will be looked upon to take advantage of their increased opportunities this season.
