08/30/16TEMyCole PruittKneeDOUBTFULPruitt (leg) is expected to miss 2-to-4 weeks after an MRI revealed he suffered a sprained MCL, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

The second-year tight end sustained the injury in Sunday's preseason win over the Chargers. He had 11 yards on one reception to go along with a lost fumble prior to exiting the contest. Pruitt and rookie David Morgan have been competing to back up Kyle Rudolph at tight end, so Morgan may have an opportunity to showcase his skill set with Pruitt sidelined the first few weeks of the season. Regardless, both expect to assume limited roles behind Rudolph.

08/29/16DBMichael GriffinBackQUESTIONABLEGriffin got the start at safety opposite Harrison Smith in Sunday's preseason game, but left in the second quarter due to a back injury and was later seen leaving the locker room on crutches, ESPN 1500 am Twin Cities reports.

Griffin had one tackle before departing. He got the start in the third preseason game over Andrew Sendejo, but head coach Mike Zimmer indicated the competition isn't decided. However, Griffin's injury could make Sendejo the starter if it's an issue for the start of the regular season.

08/24/16DBAnthony HarrisUndisclosedPROBABLEHarris remained in the starting lineup at safety and had six tackles and defended a pass in Sunday's win over Chicago.

Harris got the start with Harrison Smith out. He could start again next week if Smith remains sidelined.

08/24/16DBTre RobersonHandQUESTIONABLERoberson is dealing with a broken bone in his right hand, Joel Badzinski of the Pioneer Press reports.

Roberson suffered the injury during the Vikings' preseason opener and originally attempted to play through the injury. However, after the medical staff discovered the break, they held him out of practice last week, which eventually forced him to remain sidelined during the team's second preseason game against the Seahawks. Roberson claims he won't need surgery, but he'll still have to wear "medical gear" for roughly two weeks. It's a tough break for the 23-year-old converted cornerback, who is not a lock to make the final roster.

08/23/16TERhett EllisonKneeQUESTIONABLEEllison (knee) has been activated from the PUP list, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Ellison suffered a torn patellar tendon in last year's season finale against the Packers. He's a key blocker in Minnesota's offensive scheme, so a return to full health could boost the running game. If Ellison isn't able to play, rookie tight end David Morgan has been drawing praise for his blocking ability and could see more snaps early in the season.

08/19/16DBXavier RhodesHamstringQUESTIONABLERhodes (hamstring) did not play in Sunday's preseason win over San Diego.

He hasn't practiced since suffering the injury in the team's second preseason game. It's very unlikely he'll play in the final preseason game, so we may not know his status until shortly before the first game of the regular season.

    (Updated 08/29/2016)
08/13/16LBEric KendricksHamstringPROBABLEKendricks (hamstring) participated in practice for a second consecutive day Wednesday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Kendricks hasn't played in a preseason game after suffering an injury in early August. It sounds like he'll be ready for the regular season even if he doesn't appear in a regular season contest.

08/10/16LBEdmond RobinsonUndisclosedPROBABLERobinson had five tackles in Sunday's win over the Giants, despite playing just six snaps on defense.

Robinson started two games at linebacker with Anthony Barr hurt, but moved back to a mostly special teams role on Sunday.

08/10/16LBBrandon WattsUndisclosedPROBABLEWatts had two tackles and played just 23 snaps at weak-side linebacker in Sunday's win at Oakland.

Watts started at weak-side linebacker with Chad Greenway moving to middle linebacker while Eric Kendricks out with a rib injury. However, Watts has been coming off the field in nickel and passing situations, which limits his fantasy value.

08/09/16DBTerence NewmanUndisclosedPROBABLENewman will not travel with the team for Friday's preseason matchup with the Bengals due to an undisclosed injury, Andrew Krammer of the Star Tribune reports.

Newman missed practice both Monday and Tuesday, although the specifics of the injury have yet to be released. It isn't expected to be anything serious, though, so the Vikings are likely just being cautious with their 37-year-old veteran. Newman will remain in Minnesota for rest and recovery, but we should see his status updated by the start of next week. Look for Trae Waynes to take the starters' reps during Friday's preseason outing versus the Bengals.

07/29/16QBTaylor HeinickeAnkleOUTHeinicke (ankle) has shed the walking boot he wore to protect his foot from further injury, Scout.com reports.

Heinicke declined to talk about his injury after practice, reportedly saying it was time to go lift weights. If those were indeed his plans, his foot may be further along than anticipated. However, Shaun Hill has done nothing to relinquish his role as the backup to starter Teddy Bridgewater, and the Vikings project to carry only two quarterbacks on their active roster entering the regular season. Ultimately, Heinicke appears destined for either the practice squad or injured reserve list in 2016.

08/28/16WRTanner McEvoyGroinQUESTIONABLEMcEvoy suffered a groin injury during Seattle's third preseason game Thursday against the Cowboys.

McEvoy faces long odds towards making the team's active roster in advance of the regular season, but has impressed in limited action as a receiver after coming out of Wisconsin as a quarterback-turned-safety. This newfound injury certainly doesn't help his case, though. For now, the rookie should be considered questionable for the team's preseason finale, and highly questionable for Week 1.

08/24/16DLTavaris BarnesUndisclosedQUESTIONABLEBarnes was signed by the Seahawks on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Barnes spent the 2015 season in New Orleans with the Saints where he notched five tackles (three solo) in 12 contests. At this point he's a bit of a longshot to make Seattle's final roster.

    (Updated 04/28/2016)
08/24/16DBStanley Jean-BaptisteShoulderQUESTIONABLEJean-Baptiste (shoulder) has been placed on the Seahawks' waived/injured list.

Jean-Baptiste, signed onto Seattle's practice squad in December, reportedly injured his shoulder during Saturday's preseason opener against Kansas City. As for the Seahawks, this move creates space for the return of DT Tony McDaniels.

    (Updated 08/16/2016)
08/21/16DLJarran ReedFootQUESTIONABLEReed (foot) will not play in Thursday's preseason game against Dallas, the team's official site reports.

Reed has dealt with all kinds of lower leg injuries since arriving in Seattle. This is not the start Reed envisioned for his rookie campaign, especially after watching his name slip on draft night back in April. While the Seahawks remain mute on his availability for Week 1, it appears his foot injury could ultimately keep him off the field for some time.

    (Updated 08/24/2016)
08/19/16TENick VannettAnkleQUESTIONABLEVannett (ankle) will not play in the Seahawks' preseason finale Thursday against the Raiders, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio KJR reports.

Vannett suffered a high-ankle sprain during Seattle's second preseason tilt, but remains without a timetable to return. For now, he should be considered questionable for Week 1.

    (Updated 08/28/2016)
08/19/16LBK.J. WrightUndisclosedPROBABLEWright went back to Seattle's locker room with an undisclosed injury during Thursday's preseason game against the Vikings, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio KJR reports.

The extent of Wright's injury has yet to be determined, but the team's training staff removed him from the game and took him back to the locker room after he was shaken up in the second quarter of Thursday's tilt. A further update on Wright's injury figures to be made available after halftime.

    (Updated 08/18/2016)
08/16/16DLJordan HillGroinQUESTIONABLEThe Seahawks announced a several of roster moves on Tuesday, according to the Everett Herald. The team placed defensive tackle Jordan Hill on injured reserve with a calf injury. In a corresponding move, Seattle signed defensive back Steven Terrell off the practice squad to fill Hill's roster spot. Defensive tackle Jimmy Staten was also signed to the practice squad.
08/16/16LBMike MorganGroinPROBABLEMorgan will be available for Thursday's preseason matchup with the Vikings, Liz Mathews of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Morgan saw a specialist for a groin injury earlier in the week, but as expected, it's nothing too serious. He's expected to be available for Thursday's outing with the Vikings, which means he should be over the injury moving forward. Morgan currently projects to take on a starter's role during the upcoming season and he doesn't appear to be in danger of missing Week 1.

    (Updated 08/17/2016)
08/10/16TEJimmy GrahamKneeQUESTIONABLEGraham (knee) began team work in practice on Wednesday and will continue to ramp up his workload next week, Curtis Crabtree of ProFootballTalk.com reports.

While Graham may not be ready to go by Week 1, his involvement in team drills is a huge step in the right direction. Look for more updates to come in the following week as the tight end expands his workload. Expect Luke Wilson to dominate the first-team reps the remainder of the preseason schedule.

    (Updated 08/24/2016)
08/07/16RBThomas RawlsAnklePROBABLERawls' teammate Christine Michael has looked fantastic this preseason.

Rawls was great last year as a rookie and is ostensibly still the team's starting back. But given he's returning from an ankle injury and Michael has looked so good this preseason, there has to be some concern about the potential for a timeshare on early downs.

    (Updated 08/26/2016)
08/04/16DBKam ChancellorGroinPROBABLEChancellor (groin) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Cowboys. Defensive coordinator Kris Richard said Tuesday, "He should be (available), and hopefully he will be, but it's still up in the air. He's had a few good days of practice, but we'll see."

Chancellor returned to practice on Tuesday after nursing a groin injury over the weekend, which kept him out of last Thursday's game against the Vikings. The Seahawks will likely exercise extreme caution when determining if their Pro Bowl safety will take the field on Thursday, with a decision likely to be made that morning. If he is held out, look for Kelcie McCray and Tyvis Powell to see increased reps.

    (Updated 08/24/2016)
08/04/16DLFrank ClarkCalfPROBABLEClark sat out Thursday's practice due to a calf injury, Liz Mathews of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Short of being confirmed as a calf injury, little is known about the severity of Clark's injury and as such he's without a return timetable. He played in 15 games for the Seahawks in what was his rookie year in 2015, totaling three sacks, two passes defensed, and 16 tackles. Montese Overton figures to see some added reps as long as Clark is sidelined.

    (Updated 08/04/2016)
08/04/16LBBrock CoyleObliquePROBABLECoyle was held out of Thursday's practice due to an oblique injury, Liz Mathews of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

It's unclear how severe Coyle's injury is and he's currently without a timetable to return. He's likely competing for a role off the bench and on special teams once again. In 2015, he played just 1.5 percent of Seattle's defensive snaps, but 36.8 percent of the team's special teams snaps. Look for Steve Longa to see extra reps while Coyle is out.
