Seahawks outside linebacker Bruce Irvin tweeted that his surgically repaired hip "feels 100 times better," but he did not clarify if he'll be ready for training camp, reports the Seattle Times. Irvin has 10 sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception in his first two seasons.
The Bears signed Jimmy Clausen back in early June to compete for the backup quarterback job behind Jay Cutler. ESPN believes that Clausen has gained enough ground on incumbent backup Jordan Palmer to be penciled in for the part. Both will compete for one spot in camp this summer as rookie David Fales figures to make the roster as a long-term developmental project.
Cowboys defensive tackle Henry Melton will be cleared to participate in the team's first training camp practice, reports the Dallas Morning News. Melton tore his ACL about nine months ago and was held out of team drills during offseason workouts.
