Love appears to have cleared concussion protocol, ESPN's David Newton reports.
Love was seen walking to practice Monday with his helmet in hand, indicating he's ready to return from last week's hit to the head. Having him available gives the Panthers another big body along their defensive front, where Kawann Short, Star Lotulelei and Vernon Butler lead the interior line options.
Ealy was back on the practice field Thursday after dealing with a concussion since Saturday, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.
Ealy remained under the league's concussion protocol until Wednesday, but passed all necessary tests in order to return for Thursday's morning session. The issue appears to be in the past as the Panthers look forward to their first preseason game against the Ravens in one week.
Johnson began training camp on the active/non-football injury list with an Achilles injury.
Johnson suffered the injury last season when he was with the Patriots but did not undergo surgery until this offseason. The cornerback can be removed from the list at any point and rejoin the team on the field. There will be plenty of reps for young Panthers' defensive backs to begin camp with Johnson and fellow corner Bene Benwikere (ankle) both on the sidelines.
Jackson was a frequent and productive target of Jameis Winston in Thursday's joint practice with the Jags, of the team's official site reports.
The veteran had his day in the sun during Thursday's session, making plays up and down the practice field. Jackson hauled in a pair of deep passes from Winston during the session and was also targeted frequently during team and seven-on-seven drills. Although he hasn't necessarily drawn any headlines during camp so far, Jackson's veteran savvy and steady presence remains an integral component of the Bucs' wide receiver corps, and offense as a whole, heading into the 2016 campaign.
Sims (ankle) gained 20 yards on five carries in Saturday's preseason game against the Jaguars.
Fully recovered from a minor ankle injury, Sims got the start in place of Doug Martin (bruised ribs), who is also a bit banged up. The result was an unusual stat line, with Sims getting five carries and zero targets. No matter, the two running backs figure to reprise their roles from last season, with Martin getting most of the carries and Sims handling passing downs.
