PHILADELPHIA (AP) Miye Oni scored 18 points and Yale never trailed to beat Harvard 73-71 Saturday in a semifinal of the inaugural Ivy League Tournament.
No. 3 seed Yale (18-10) will play top-seeded Princeton (22-6) in the championship on Sunday.
The Bulldogs had a 13-point lead early in the second half. Harvard used a 26-13 spurt, capped by Bryce Aiken's deep 3-pointer from the top the arc, to tie it at 60.
Oni's emphatic two-handed dunk and free throw gave Yale a five-point lead, and Aiken answered with another deep 3 to pull Harvard to 71-69. On the Crimson's next possession, Aiken drove the lane and opted to pass the ball rather than attempt a layup and turned the ball over. Trey Phills split a pair of free throws and Yale led 72-69 with 21 seconds remaining.
Aiken's next 3-point attempt hit the back of the rim and went out of bounds. After a review, possession was given back to Harvard with 10.6 left. Siyani Chambers tried a cross-court pass from the arc to Aiken, but Jordan Bruner intercepted the ball to seal it for the Bulldogs.
Sam Downey had 13 points and 10 rebounds for Yale. Aiken had a career-high 28 points to lead No. 2 seed Harvard (18-10).
