The Diamondbacks showed great restraint by not promoting Aaron Blair down the stretch last year, presumably in an effort to preserve his arm, but the Braves are going to be the team that benefits following an offseason trade. For the 160 1/3 innings he lasted between Double- and Triple-A, he looked major league-ready, his sinking fastball piling up ground balls en route to a 2.92 ERA and 1.17 WHIP. He had a pronounced dip in strike rate, raising questions about his upside, but the scouting community seemed generally pleased with what he accomplished in his third professional season, which is enough to put him on the NL-only radar for 2016 even if he's a long shot to win a rotation spot this spring.
