The Athletics selected Edwards with the No. 47 overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.
A lefty from USC, Edwards struck out 169 batters in 95.2 innings this spring, although he also walked 11.9 percent of batters. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound hurler throws in the low-90s and lacks a quality slider, but if the Athletics can add a tick or two to his fastball, his ability to miss bats with the curveball and changeup should allow him to work at the back of a rotation.
