The Cubs have selected Armas with the 153rd overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.
A Buster Posey Award semi-finalist in 2024, Armas offers an outstanding defensive profile behind the plate, thanks to athleticism that allowed him to play shortstop in high school. The University of San Diego product doesn't offer much power as a hitter though and could struggle against premium heat in the pros.
