Cubs' Joel Peralta: Designated for assignment

Peralta was designated for assignment Wednesday, Jesse Rogers of ESPNChicago.com reports.

After giving up four earned runs across just four innings with the Cubs, Peralta has been designated for assignment to make room for Adam Warren. Warren, who'd been with the Cubs for much of the season, will be recalled from Triple-A Iowa, where he's started two games and been good for a 4.15 ERA.
