The Cubs have selected Moreno with the 147th overall pick in the 2020 first-year player draft.
There's a lot of upside in Moreno, who according to Baseball America can throw in the lower 90s and has good feel for both his curveball and changeup. The East Carolina commit could be a tricky sign for the Cubs, as he has the talent to be picked at least a round or two higher down the road.
