Cubs' Kyle Ryan: DFA'd by Cubs

Ryan was designated for assignment by the Cubs on Friday, Maddie Lee of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

The 29-year-old was promoted Tuesday after a brief stint in the minors, and he lost his spot on the 40-man roster after giving up one run on two hits and a walk while not recording an out Wednesday. Ryan could remain in the organization if he goes unclaimed on waivers.
