The Dodgers have selected Smith with the 32nd overall pick in the 2016 first-year player draft.
Smith managed all of nine home runs in his three years at Louisville, but seven of those came this season, and there's some hope he can add a little power in time even with a short, compact swing from the right side. He's a well-rounded catching prospect with a decent arm and agility behind the plate -- there's little doubt he'll be able to stick at catcher. Smith can even run a little bit as well, which you don't usually see at the position.
