The Giants selected Martinez with the No. 118 overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.
Martinez, a senior out of Hofstra, has already had Tommy John surgery and sits around 93 mph with his fastball while touching 97 mph. Scouts like Martinez's slider, and that could serve him well in a bullpen role if the Giants don't develop him as a starter.
