Bartsch was released by the Royals on Sunday, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
Bartsch was off to a rough start in 2017, posting an 8.31 ERA and 2.42 WHIP over his first 17.1 innings. The 26-year-old will look to link up with another minor-league club this season.
