Shen is recovering from Tommy John surgery, Geoff Pontes of Baseball America reports.
It's unclear exactly when Shen had the procedure, but he didn't pitch at all this season, as the injury occurred early in camp. He'll likely be out until at least the middle of the 2027 season. The 22-year-old Taiwanese righty logged a 4.67 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 68:14 K:BB in 69.1 innings in the lower levels of the minors in 2025.
