The Mariners selected Lucas with the No. 129 overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.
Lucas was unranked by MLB Pipeline coming into the night, but he had a strong statistical season for UNC Wilmington. The third baseman slashed .312/.429/.556 with 12 homers, nine steals and more walks than strikeouts in 58 games this spring.
