Narveson was designated for assignment Friday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
Narveson allowed eight runs over just 8.1 innings with the Marlins this season, posting an 8.64 ERA and 1.44 WHIP. However, he's posted better numbers at Triple-A New Orleans, where he owns a 3.48 ERA and 1.19 WHIP over 18 games. In a corresponding move, Xavier Scruggs's contract was selected by Miami.
