Marlins' Josh White: Protected from Rule 5 Draft

The Marlins selected White's contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday.

A fifth-round pick in 2022, White made his way to the Triple-A level last season and pitched well for Jacksonville with a 2.29 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 57:11 K:BB over 39.1 innings. The Marlins added him to the 40-man roster in order to prevent him from being selected during the upcoming Rule 5 Draft.
