The Padres selected Lynch with the No. 97 overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.
Lynch has a quality slider and is up to 99 mph with his fastball. A 6-foot-3, 215-pound righty out of North Carolina, Lynch began as a reliever and moved to the rotation this spring. He'll be given every chance to start but could end up making it as a multi-inning reliever.
