Webb was added to Kansas City's 40-man roster Friday.
Webb was a strikeout machine as a 23-year-old reliever at Low-A and High-A, and the Royals wanted to protect him from the Rule 5 draft. He should spend 2022 pitching in the upper levels of the minors.
