Barlow and the Royals agreed to terms on a one-year, $2.4 million deal Tuesday, avoiding arbitration, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.

Barlow will increase his salary by nearly $2 million in his first year of arbitration eligibility. He emerged as the Royals' closer last season, saving 16 games while posting a 2.42 ERA and a 29.7 percent strikeout rate.
