Osorio agreed Saturday with the Tigers on a contract that includes a $2.2 million signing bonus, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
The 16-year-old shortstop from Venezuela was the top pickup for the Tigers in the international amateur signing period. A six-foot, 172-pound right-handed hitter, Osorio is held in high regard for his high-end bat speed and a plus arm, which could allow him to stick at shortstop throughout his development.
