Wilfredo Boscan: Released Thursday

Boscan was released Thursday, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Boscan appeared in six games, including one start, for the Pirates this season, but found very little success, posting a 6.46 ERA and 1.43 WHIP to go a long with an awful 4.70 K/9. He was decent in Triple-A (3.75 ERA) this season, but it appears the Pirates are ready to cut ties and the 26-year-old will have to look for work elsewhere.
