Zach Pop: Hits open market

Pop elected free agency Thursday.

The right-hander cleared waivers after being designated for assignment by the Mets, and he'll head to the open market rather than reporting to Triple-A Syracuse. Pop has surrendered 11 earned runs in 6.2 innings over five appearances between the Mets and Mariners this season.
