  • Cardinals' Aaron Wilkerson: Lands with Cardinals

    Wilkerson signed a minor-league contract with the Cardinals on Friday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports. After opting out of his minor-league deal with the Reds on Wednesday, Wilkerson will now look to carve out a role for himself in the Cardinals organization. Through 18 starts in the minors, the 36-year-old owns a 4.17 ERA and 1.06 WHIP across 95 innings. He could be in consideration for a promotion if St. Louis' rotation depth is tested down the stretch.

    Wilkerson opted out of his minor-league contract with the Reds on Wednesday, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston reports. After spending the last two seasons in South Korea, Wilkerson has posted a 4.17 ERA and 1.06 WHIP over 95 innings at Triple-A Louisville this year. The 36-year-old righty will now explore other opportunities in the open market, though he's unlikely to attract more than another minor-league deal.

    The Reds signed Wilkerson to a minor-league contract Monday, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports. Wilkerson, 35, has spent the last two seasons with the Lotte Giants of the Korea Baseball Organization, most recently posting a 3.84 ERA and 167:27 K:BB over 196.2 frames covering 32 starts in 2024. He last appeared in the majors in 2019 with the Brewers.

  • Aaron Wilkerson: Finds work in Korea

    Wilkerson agreed to a one-year, $250,000 contract with the Lotte Giants of the Korea Baseball Organization on Tuesday, Dan Kurtz of MyKBO.net reports. The deal includes up to $100,000 in incentives. Wilkerson had spent the 2023 season in the Athletics organization and compiled a 6.51 ERA and 1.60 WHIP while striking out 53 over 47 innings at Triple-A Las Vegas before he was granted free agency last week to pursue the opportunity overseas. The 34-year-old right-hander has previously made 14 appearances at the big-league level, but none since 2019.

    Wilkerson signed a minor-league contract with the Athletics on Sunday. Wilkerson spent the 2022 season with the Hanshin Tigers of Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball while submitting a 4.01 ERA with a 66:28 K:BB over 89.2 innings. The right-hander is expected to report to Triple-A Las Vegas and will provide some organizational depth for Oakland in 2023.
