Beltre (hamstring) is slashing .273/.310/.418 with no home runs and five stolen bases across 13 games at Double-A Somerset on the season. Beltre missed the final couple weeks of spring training while recovering from a hamstring injury, but he returned to full health prior to the start of the minor-league season. The speedy outfielder will likely spend most of the 2021 campaign at Double-A.
Beltre left Friday's game against Pittsburgh with a hamstring injury, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports. The exact nature and severity of the injury are not yet clear. Beltre isn't expected to push for a roster spot even if healthy, as he's yet to advance beyond Double-A and posted a .637 OPS at that level in 2019.
