Pirates' Andres Alvarez: Sent to minor-league camp

Alvarez was reassigned Tuesday to the minor-league side of Pirates camp. Alvarez was one of eight players sent out in this round of cuts. The 25-year-old infielder slashed .220/.339/.429 with 20 home runs and 21 stolen bases in 110 games last summer at Double-A Altoona. He'll make the jump to Triple-A Indianapolis in 2023.
