Goss (shoulder) made his season debut Wednesday in Low-A Charleston's 3-1 loss to Columbia, pitching two innings and giving up a run on two hits and no walks while striking out two. Goss was shut down for most of the 2021 season with a right shoulder impingement, though he was cleared to begin a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Florida Complex League over the final month of the campaign. Rays' JJ Goss: Rehabbing in FCL
Goss (shoulder) made his second rehab start with the Rays' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate Monday, working 2.1 innings while striking out three and giving up four runs on six hits and no walks. Goss was sidelined at Low-A Charleston for nearly a month with a right shoulder impingement before he was cleared to begin a rehab assignment in the FCL on Aug. 31. Rays' JJ Goss: Out with shoulder injury
Goss has missed the entire season due to a shoulder impingement, J.J. Cooper of Baseball America reports. He is throwing bullpen sessions and hopes to get back on the mound prior to the end of the season. Fortunately, Goss doesn't turn 21 until December, so the missed time doesn't put him too far behind schedule. He has a high ceiling and was reportedly quite impressive during 2020 fall instructs, so he could be a bounce-back candidate in 2022.... See More ... See Less
