Rutschman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.

With Baltimore closing out its season-opening series against the Twins with a day game, Rutschman will rest after starting the first two contests. Samuel Basallo will fill in for Rutschman at catcher.

Fry started at catcher and went 2-for-5 with a double in Saturday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Mariners.

Fry made his season debut and caught a game for the first time since July of 2024, as he was limited to DH and pinch hitting duties last season while completing his recovery from elbow surgery. Now fully healthy, Fry can get behind the dish again along with his other utility duties. He's the third-string catcher behind Bo Naylor and Austin Hedges, who is day-to-day with a hand injury.

Langeliers went 2-for-4 with a walk and a grand slam in Saturday's 8-7 extra-innings loss to the Blue Jays.

After going yard twice in the A's opener Friday, Langeliers belted his third homer of the young season in the seventh inning Saturday off Brendon Little. The 28-year-old backstop is 5-for-8 with six RBI to begin the season as he looks to beat the career-high 31 home runs he launched in 2025.

Naylor isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mariners.

Naylor will sit down for the third game of the series after going 1-for-8 with a walk across the first two contests. David Fry will pick up a start behind the plate in Naylor's stead and bat fifth.

Dingler is not in Detroit's starting lineup against San Diego on Saturday.

Dingler started in each of the Tigers' first two games of the regular season, but he'll get some rest Saturday while Jake Rogers serves as the team's backstop and bats ninth. Dinger has gone 3-for-8 with one home run and four RBI to open the 2026 campaign.

Quero is not in the White Sox's starting lineup against the Brewers on Saturday.

Quero drew the start Opening Day on Thursday and went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. He'll be on the bench for the start of Saturday's game while Reese McGuire starts at catcher and bats eighth.

The White Sox outrighted Lee to Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Lee was DFA'd by the White Sox on Wednesday after he failed to make the team's Opening Day roster. He'll remain in the organization after clearing waivers but could see some major-league action this season if the White Sox require depth at catcher. Lee appeared in 26 regular-season games for the White Sox in 2025 and posted a .257/.333/.429 slash line with one home run and three RBI across 40 plate appearances.

Fortes is not in the Rays' starting lineup against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Fortes got the start on Opening Day against St. Louis on Thursday, when he went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. He'll be on the bench for the beginning of Saturday's game, with Hunter Feduccia handling backstop duties and batting ninth while forming a battery with right-hander Joe Boyle.

Langeliers went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs during the Athletics' 3-2 loss to the Blue Jays on Friday.

Langeliers provided all of the offense for the Athletics on Opening Day, with the All-Star catcher blasting solo home runs in the fourth and ninth innings off Kevin Gausman and Jeff Hoffman, respectively. It was Langeliers' second multi-homer game since 2025 and the seventh in his four-plus-year major-league career. The 28-year-old catcher is looking to build off his strong 2025 campaign, during which he posted a .861 OPS with 31 home runs, 72 RBI and seven steals across 523 plate appearances.

Caratini started at first base and went 1-for-3 in Thursday's 2-1 loss against the Orioles.

It looks like Caratini could be Minnesota's starting first baseman against left-handed pitchers. At the least, it shows new manager Derek Shelton isn't afraid to use both Caratini and Ryan Jeffers in the same lineup. Caratini may get more playing time than expected in the backup catcher role.
