Athletics injured starter Brett Anderson will join the team in Cleveland Wednesday and will throw batting practice before the game to see how his right ankle sprain is progressing, the San Jose Mercury News reports.
If Anderson can throw without pain, manager Bob Melvin said he could go on an injury rehab assignment somewhere in the minors before he rejoins the rotation.
"We'll want to see how his bullpen goes," Melvin said. "He could potentially pitch somewhere before the 15 days is up."
