Chris Valaika has won the competition for the Marlins' utility role over Wilson Valdez, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
Valaika, 27, spent 2012 at Triple-A Louisville, where he hit .223/.268/.347 in 85 games. He hit .240/.264/.380 with two home runs in 53 at-bats this spring.
