Diamondbacks outfielder Cody Ross could begin sliding soon, according to azcentral.com.

Ross has been receiving at-bats in minor-league games, and is close to doing sliding drills. Ross is attempting to come back from a gruesome hip injury. He's hoping to make his spring debut in a week or so. It's unlikely Ross breaks camp with the team in time to play in the Australia series.

Ross hit .278/.331/.413 in 317 at-bats last year.
