Padres shortstop Everth Cabrera spoke to teammates prior to Tuesday's game to address his recent suspension, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Cabrera gave an emotional speech to the club, hitting on the same points he emphasized Monday. It was Cabrera's idea to address the team, according to manager Bud Black. Third baseman Chase Headley still has mixed feelings about the issue. "I don’t doubt his sincerity. But there’s some frustration. What’s happened hurts the team," Headley said.
Cabrera was hitting .283/.355/.381 in 381 at-bats prior to receiving his suspension.
