Giants pitcher Jeremy Affeldt threw a bullpen session Saturday, MLB.com reports. It was his first action of any kind since being placed on the disabled list in mid-July with a groin strain.
Affeldt isn't expected to be ready to return until September. He is 1-4 with a 3.51 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 21:17 K:BB ratio in 33 1/3 innings.
