Hall of Famer John Smoltz will replace Harold Reynolds and Tom Verducci as the lead baseball television analyst for Fox Sports, the network announced Tuesday.

The Verducci and Reynolds tandem has spent the last two years in the booth alongside Joe Buck. They replaced longtime analyst Tim McCarver, who retired following the 2013 World Series. Reynolds is an analyst for MLB Network who played 12 years in MLB. Verducci is a longtime Sports Illustrated columnist.

Smoltz, 48, has worked games for Fox Sports the last few years and is also an on-air analyst for MLB Network. He and Buck will be the network's top baseball broadcast duo. Andy Martino of the New York Daily News says Reynolds and Verducci will likely still have a role with Fox, perhaps as in-studio analysts.

Following a brilliant 21-year playing career, Smoltz was inducted into the Hall of Fame this past summer.
